originally intended to document the festivities of mapleleaf: the annual southern missouri fall festival, complete with car shows, baby pageants and family reunions, mapleleaf : a ghost story shifted after encountering the voices of two veteran soldiers at a local phenomena known as the spook light.

enter into the haunting and often disturbingly sincere dialogue of the desert storm and iraqi vets while glimpsing through vivid footage from the small town parade. questions of the paranormal blur with comments on life post combat.

the music in mapleleaf was written by the filmmaker and rachel bonar. bonar's voice is heard along with several others at the opening of the film as the group awaits the arrival of the spook light on an abandoned country road. it is here on a windy october night the group is happened upon by the two soldiers and their many stories.
