the composition of this audio piece is the result of a collaboration between artists matt pierce and jude matthews. pierce was given specific instructions by matthews to compose one line of text that would be the basis for the rest of the piece. next, pierce was asked to use four other sounds to mimic the natural rhythms in the line of text, as read aloud. these sounds were to be combined as desired. yet again began as a study in sound rhythms, grew into the audio piece featured here, and later served as the foundation for a movement piece performed by pierce in april 2007.
